Eduardo Sanchiz

Eduardo Sanchiz is Chief Executive Officer of Almirall. He joined in 2004 as Chief Executive Corporate Development & Finance.
Since coming to Almirall he has been deeply involved in the company´s IPO in 2007 as well as supporting a variety of M&A and licensing activities during these years, including three European company and portfolio acquisitions, key partnering agreements in the US and two pan-european in-licensing projects.
Almirall is the largest Spanish-based pharmaceutical company with direct presence in 12 countries. Total income in 2010 exceeded 1 billion euros. The company spent in that year 15% of sales in R&D and has currently 12 projects in clinical stage in therapeutic areas like respiratory, dermatology and GI.
Prior to his coming to Almirall he worked for 22 years at Eli Lilly & Co in a variety of finance, marketing, sales business development jobs including 17 years in headquarters and in international assignments. Since 1993 he was involved in several country and regional general management positions. In his last assignment prior to returning to Spain he lead large cluster of European countries.
Eduardo has a master degree in economics from Deusto University in Spain and an MBA from Instituto Empresa.
